About Me

I originally began in the theatre when I joined my local youth theatre group at the age of fourteen. During my eight years there I was able to perform in many live shows as well as work backstage within the lighting and sound departments. This lead me to pursue a career within the creative arts, specifically the screen industry.

I am currently freelance and have been since graduating from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2010 where I specialized in Cinematography.

I have worked within the camera department in various roles from Data Wrangler to Director of Photography on multiple formats and genres including a Promo for BBC Scotland and a feature length documentary.

I was fortunate enough to assist Oscar winning Cinematographer Michael McDonough  as my first professional credit and learn from DoP's such as John Rhodes BSC.

I have been lucky enough to participate in many competitive programmes such as Odense Talent Lab 2014 where I attended masterclasses with Oscar winners.

I was a participant of the Terre Di Cinema's CineCampus 2017 in Sicily as a director where I was able to shoot my short film on 35mm film stock and participate in classes with Cinematographers such as Ed Lackman ASC.

I have mainly worked as a Director of Photography and Camera Operator but also enjoy focus pulling and slating equally. I believe assisting is a very good way to keep your skills sharp and to learn about any new equipment on the market. It also encourages you to refine your people skills which then come in useful as the head of department.

I also love being on set and so take any opportunity to do so.

I have independently produced and shot my own short films, one of which winning the Best Student Film at the Thurrock International Film festival 2012 and another nominated for best Sci-Fi at the Limelight Film Awards as well as receiving a 'pick of the bunch' during the last Virgin Media Shorts Awards.

I am currently an official member of BAFTA Crew.
